Ruby Tian
Class of 2014
After graduating from Fredericksburg Christian School, Ruby Tian moved to New York to attend the Pratt Institute, where she earned her Bachelor of Architecture. She continued her education at Stanford University, obtaining a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering. After years of gaining experience in the industry and securing her professional Architect license, Ruby decided to bring her expertise back to her roots.
Ruby is now the owner of Tian Construction, a Fredericksburg-based firm providing Class A general contracting, construction management, and A/E consulting services. Her business recently reached a major milestone with the completion of the Gladys West Elementary School construction project in Fredericksburg—a significant undertaking that the team delivered both on time and on budget. As she grows her firm, Ruby looks forward to becoming even more involved in the Fredericksburg community. And on a personal note, Ruby celebrated a wonderful milestone in 2024 when she married her husband, Kevin!
When reflecting on her time at FCS, Ruby says there are countless memories that shaped her path. One teacher who stands out in particular is the late Mr. Gideon, who passed away this summer. His classes on Adobe software didn’t just teach her technical skills; they inspired a sense of creativity she still brings to her architectural designs today. Ruby is grateful she was able to thank him for his mentorship before his passing, and says he always had a way of making her day, week, and month.
We are so impressed by Ruby’s professional achievements and can’t wait to see the physical impact her work will continue to have on the Fredericksburg landscape!
