LIBRARY

Our school has two on-site libraries: one in our Lower School and the other in our Upper School. One of our program’s main objectives is to instill a true love for reading and a life-long quest for learning in our students. Our library media specialists teach standards-based library instruction, provide book talks, reading incentive programs, and one-on-one assistance to students, faculty, and parents.

It is our desire that students are equipped and motivated to dig into all genres of literature and most importantly, the Bible, for academic and spiritual growth. We want them to know that books are not just a resource, but that reading is also fun and enjoyable!

We equip students to be successful researchers and discerning information users. Students are provided access to a diverse collection of media while incorporating the newest information technologies. Our two campus library media centers house an up-to-date collection of more than 25,000 pre-screened books and other resources.  The entire library collection is also accessible online through the Destiny Library Management program, through which students, faculty, and families can search by topic, author, or subject and view the full list of books available at our libraries.

Resourcing Students, Faculty, and Families

Beginning in Kindergarten, students in the Lower School get to visit the Library once per week for about 30 minutes. They learn about a variety of authors and genres, play literacy games, participate in story time, and get to check out a new book each week. Additionally, our Lower School Library holds events such as Dot Day, Dr. Seuss Day, a 5th Grade Book Club, and a yearly Book Fair.

Our Upper School Library, accessible to both Middle and High School students, is a treasure trove of books and resources. Whether they’re interested in light-hearted fiction, historical novels, research materials, or Biblical studies, the library offers a space for all literary pursuits. We also host a variety of engaging book clubs during lunch, providing a wonderful opportunity for students to connect over their shared passion for reading.

Parent Resources

Our Library doesn’t just exist to serve students, but for our faculty and FCS families, too. We have Parent Resource books that are available to be checked out by families anytime! Additionally, every family is invited to sign up for a free account with Right Now Media – the world’s largest library of video-driven Bible study resources. FCS families can sign up for their account to gain access to Bible studies, children’s shows & series, and much more!
