Larry Root
Chairman
Larry Root has been married for almost 40 years to Julie Root and has four kids that all graduated from FCS. They are the proud grandparents to three grandchildren, two whom attend FCS. Larry is the CEO of SimVentions, Inc. He graduated from University of Michigan-Flint with a B.S. in Computer Science. He attends New Life in Christ Church, where he serves as Chair of the Deacon Board.
Steve Mandell
Board Member
Dr. Steve Mandell is the Vice President of Medical Affairs at Mary Washington Health Center. He completed his undergraduate and medical degree at the University of Kentucky. Steve has been married to his wife Ellen for over 40 years. They have three kids who graduated from FCS, one of whom worked at FCS for several years and seven grandchildren. They attend Grace Church of Fredericksburg.
Muriel May
Board Member
Muriel May came to Fredericksburg in 1980 to teach at FCS when she was hired by FCS founders, Gary and Andy Foss to teach fourth and fifth grade. She is now retired from Goolricks’s Pharmacy. Muriel is married to Stephen, who was a pharmacist and owner of Goolrick’s Pharmacy for 25 years. They have three kids who all graduated from FCS and 11 grandchildren. She attended Gordon College. They attend New City Fellowship in Fredericksburg.
Theresa Mills
Board Member
Theresa Mills is an On-Air Personality/Day Sponsor Director for WPER. She attended Virginia Tech. Theresa was married to husband John, who is now in Heaven. They have a son who is a local realtor and recently married and a daughter who has a doctorate in Athletic Training, both of whom are alumna of FCS. Theresa enjoys meeting people and hearing their stories along with travel adventures with her family. She attends Fredericksburg Full Gospel Fellowship.
Jamie Williams
Board Member
Jamie Williams is married to Susannah, fellow 2003 FCS graduate. They have been married for 16 years. They have three children who are current students at FCS. Jamie is a Subcontracts Administrator for SimVentions, Inc. He graduated from Liberty University and attends Spotswood Baptist Church. His passions are family, history, theology and teaching through Scripture.
Kevin Woods
Board Secretary
Kevin Woods is married to Valarie, who served FCS for 15 years as the school nurse and coordinator. All four of their children attended FCS from Kindergarten through the 12th grade. Kevin graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is retired USAF and from United Airlines where he was a Boeing 777 Captain. Kevin attends Spotswood Baptist Church.

Amy McCullough
We gratefully remember Amy McCullough for her faithful service, leadership, and dedication to our community. A managing member of The Law Office of Amy E. McCullough, PLC, Amy brought wisdom, compassion, and integrity to her role on the board at Fredericksburg Christian School. She was deeply devoted to her family, her faith, and serving others through local organizations and her church community at New Life in Christ Church. Her lasting impact on FCS and the families she served will not be forgotten.
Bob Duffy
We gratefully remember Bob for his faithful leadership and lasting impact on our school community. He served as a deacon and trustee in his church, a Board Member of the Fredericksburg Bible Institute, Chairman of the Board for FCS, and Board Member and Vice President of Business Development for SimVentions. Bob found great purpose in contributing to the protection of our nation’s freedom. He will be remembered for his deep love for his family, his unwavering faith, and the joy he found sailing the Chesapeake Bay, woodworking, and playing golf.
