Petitt Brothers (’15, ’17, ’18)

Aaron, Caleb, and Matt Petitt

Class of 2015, 2017, and 2018

It is a joy to see how God has led the Petitt brothers into three distinct and impactful careers since their time at Fredericksburg Christian School. From the tech world of Wisconsin to the research of political economy and the front lines of emergency medicine, here is an update on Aaron, Caleb, and Matt.

Aaron Petitt (’15) graduated from the University of Virginia with a double major in Spanish Literature and Political Science. During his time in Charlottesville, he was a member of the marching band, rowed crew for four years, and served as a Spanish translator for the Legal Aid Justice Center. He also spent time studying in Valencia, Spain, through a bilingual exchange program. Aaron eventually moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where he transitioned into the tech industry, working at Epic Systems and earning a certificate in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin. Today, he manages cloud infrastructure for the International Sports Sciences Association. In his free time, he is an avid sailor and volunteers at one of the busiest food pantries in southern Wisconsin. Aaron credits much of his personal growth to Greg Reed, who helped him become a confident musician in the FCS band program.

Caleb Petitt (’17) attended George Mason University, where he earned his degree in Economics while serving as a small group leader for Intervarsity. His academic journey continued with a PhD in Economics, where he wrote his dissertation on the political economy of early modern England and her colonies. Caleb’s career has ranged from working as a Contract Specialist for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program to his current role as a Research Associate at the Independent Institute. He recently celebrated a milestone year in 2024, marrying his wife, Susannah, who also works in the economics field. Caleb points to 1 John 2:7-11 as a foundational scripture and fondly remembers the academic rigor of Mrs. Jensen’s calculus classes, which prepared him for the complex math he does today as an economist.

Matt Petitt (’18) earned his degree in Chemistry from William & Mary, where he was recognized with a Royal Society of Chemistry award for outstanding achievement. Before entering the medical field, Matt sought out high-pressure environments to serve others, working as an EMT at Mary Washington Hospital and spending three seasons as a wildland firefighter on a 20-person handcrew in John Day, Oregon. He is currently an MD student at Eastern Virginia Medical School, set to graduate in 2026. Matt is currently applying for residencies in Emergency Medicine, a field he gained further experience in during recent rotations at LSU-Shreveport and ECU. He traces his path back to the FCS science wing, noting that Mrs. Turner’s chemistry class was the primary influence on his decision to pursue his degree and future medical career.

We are so proud of the Petitt brothers and the unique ways they are using their talents to serve their communities and the Kingdom!
