Video Message to Lower School Families from Principal, Susan Cheatham

Hi there boys and girls, parents, grandparents, and all who might be helping our students and families right now.

I wanted to continue to let all of you know how much I miss you.  I miss your hellos in the hallway, your hugs throughout the day, being together with you in chapel, hearing you tell me about things you are learning, and watching to see how each of you finishes out the year.

You have been doing a great job with this new way of learning!  And I love seeing how you have interacted with your teachers online, so many of you being sure to say “Hi” or “Good morning” to them each day, and especially when I see you thanking them in the streams.  I know many teachers have begun or will be starting chats with your classes or small groups – it was so fun for me to be a part of one of those yesterday.  I hope to join more of those in the next few weeks.

I know that there will be many questions as we continue to work through this school year.  Please make sure that you let us know about anything we can do to help – lessons, ideas for activities that you can do at home, prayer requests – anything that comes to mind.

This afternoon some of your teachers will be going to our new building to begin writing your scriptures and prayers on the floors. If you have not already filled out the form with your Bible verse, please make sure you do that.  We want every one of you to be a part of this.  The form will remain open and teachers will continue to go over whenever we have more verses to write.  We will be sure to let you know where your verse is written so you can begin to pray for the teachers and students who will be there in the years to come.  I also loved how many of you prayed for the workers.  I am so excited to think that tomorrow morning when they come to work, they will read some of those prayers about them!  You have already spread the light to others without even seeing them.

A lot of this has been a fun adventure and I love that you have enjoyed spending more time outside and with your families.  As you think about how special that has been, and as you get ready for some of the things that might be hard in the weeks ahead, I hope that you will think about this verse from Romans 8 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”  How is God using this time for good?  And how can you be a part of His plan for good?  Look for His purpose.  And look for your purpose.  He has called every one of us.

I love all of you!

Mrs. Cheatham
