Families Switching from Public School

Are things not working out as you’d hoped at your child’s current school? Are you looking for more personalized attention? Perhaps you’re looking for a more challenging curriculum for your child or a school environment that prioritizes their emotional and social wellbeing. Are you wanting more for their educational experience and concerned that they are being prepared for their future?

Whatever your reason for considering Fredericksburg Christian School, we’re glad you’re here. We are a private Christian school in Fredericksburg, Virginia, serving students in:

Families who are looking for a change choose FCS for many reasons including:

Strong academics. We offer an academically rigorous curriculum that prepares students for their path beyond high school

Small class sizes. Teachers have the space and freedom to give students individual attention. They can assist with student needs, including helping them adjust to a new school and identifying any areas where they might need more challenge or extra help.

Nurturing environment. Our community and culture reflect our Christian beliefs; we emphasize the same values you’re instilling at home. Our dedicated teachers get to know their students, preparing them for future success and cheering them on along the way.

Partnership with parents. We’re in this together. FCS parents enjoy excellent communication between home and school. Parents have the opportunity to volunteer and be active members of our campus community. Some popular ways parents service is by assisting in our main office, library, art room, during lunch, and at our annual Field Day.

Opportunities for enrichment. FCS students are able to create, explore, dream, and achieve through extracurricular activities that include athletics, fine arts, spiritual life, service opportunities, and student clubs and organizations.

Welcoming community and culture. New students are warmly welcomed into the FCS community. New Student Night introduces them to their classrooms, teachers, and new friends. Student buddies are assigned to new high school students to help them acclimate. Upper school retreats encourage relationship building for middle and high school students.

“About six years ago we were blessed with the opportunity to send our kids to FCS. At that time our two oldest children transitioned from public school and simply put, saying they thrived is an understatement. The Christian environment and learning experience was life-changing. Our youngest child has attended since kindergarten. We are so grateful to God for the FCS community and honored to be a part of it.”
