How do I get to each campus?

FCS Stafford Campus

  • From I-95, take exit 143B/Garrisonville Road/610W toward Garrisonville
  • Go about 3 miles until you see North Stafford High School on left
  • At next light, make a LEFT onto Shelton Shop Road
  • Go past Food Lion grocery store and turn RIGHT onto Soaring Eagle Drive
  • Turn LEFT onto Shepherd’s Way

FCS Lower School

  • From I-95, take exit 126A toward Fredericksburg
  • Take Route 1 North/Jefferson Davis Highway
  • At the Twin Lakes traffic light, take a LEFT onto the service road that parallels Route 1

From the North:

  • From I-95, take exit 130 toward Fredericksburg
  • Take Route 1 South/Jefferson Davis Highway
  • At the Twin Lakes traffic light, take a RIGHT onto the service road that parallels Route 1

From the Service Road:

  • Turn RIGHT at the sign for Highway Assembly of God
  • Follow this drive to the church building
  • Continue past the church building to the education buildings and gym

From Route 17-South:

  • Stay on Route 17-S for approximately 4.5 miles
  • Turn RIGHT onto Thornton Rolling Road/Route 609
  • Go approximately 1/2 mile
  • Turn RIGHT into parking lot

Is Fredericksburg Christian Schools accredited?

Yes!

FCS is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and is an accredited member of the Virginia Council for Private Education.

Is there an age cut-off for enrolling my child in preschool or kindergarten?

  • Applicants who turn three by September 30th will be considered for enrollment in the Pre-K 3-year-old program.
  • Applicants who turn four by September 30th will be considered for enrollment in the Pre-K 4-year-old program.
  • Applicants who turn five by September 30th will be considered for enrollment in the Kindergarten program.

Does FCS offer extended care?

Extended Care is offered for the Fredericksburg Lower School from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Stafford Campus from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

What curriculum is used for each grade level?

Curriculum Guides are available for grades Pre-K3 through 8th. An Academic Handbook is available for grades 9th through 12th.

Is transportation available to the various campuses?

We have various means of transporting students to and from our school facilities. We offer bus service to and from North Stafford, the Culpeper-Orange area west of Fredericksburg, and the King George area. We also offer bus-shuttle service between campuses for parents needing to drop students off at our Lower School and Upper School campuses. Finally, a number of our parents choose to carpool.

Carpool Lists are available at any campus office and are updated each August before the start of the next academic year.

How can I obtain a carpool list?

Current FCS families can obtain a copy of the current carpool list at any campus office. Carpool lists are updated each August and are available no later than the first day of school.

How do I sign up for the RenWeb Parent Alert System?

FCS uses the RenWeb Parent Alert System to instantly inform families of school closings and delays (through phone, email, etc.). In order to make sure you receive notifications that may effect your child, we ask that you update any contact information in RenWeb.

You can also create an account in RenWeb as a parent.

How do I schedule a campus tour?

You are welcome to come visit at any time. However, to better accommodate you, please call the office of the campus you are interested in touring so we can set aside a special time to show you around and answer your questions. You may also arrange for you and your child to sit in on a class (lower grades) or to have your child shadow a student (Upper School).

What is the class size?

Our average class size is 18 students to one teacher.

What are the schools hours for each campus?

Stafford Campus

Preschool: 8:20 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (drop-off begins at 8:10 a.m.)
Kindergarten: 8:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Elementary (PreK-5th grade): 8:15 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (drop-off begins at 7:50 a.m.)
Extended Care Hours (PreK-5th grade): 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Fredericksburg Lower School

Preschool and Kindergarten Program: 8:10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Elementary School Program: 8:10 a.m.-3:10 p.m.
Extended Care Hours (PreK-5th grade): 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Fredericksburg Upper School

8 a.m.-3:03 p.m. (8 class periods each day)

Do FCS high school students participate in mission trips?

Our high school students participate in mission programs and reach out to other Christian schools and international communities through mission involvement. We have been to Africa, Argentina, France, Guatemala, Haiti, Peru, and Uruguay, and have participated in a local inner-city mission trip in Richmond. The Upper School also provides the opportunity to travel to West Virginia each year, where students volunteer at a boy’s home.

Across all Fredericksburg Christian Schools, each campus annually sponsors a child from Africa.

Do any international students attend the FCS Upper School?

International students have attended FCS from Africa, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Guatemala, Japan, Korea, Montenegro, Nigeria, Russia, Serbia, South America, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Where can I find a sports physical, and how long is it valid?

Sports physicals are valid each school year from May 1st of the current year through June 30th of the succeeding year.

Sports physicals can be completed by your student’s primary care physician or a walk-in clinic. The Athletic Department also offers sports physicals for a nominal fee in late spring.
